Andrey Bistriy: "In our daily business we face the database management and refactoring. We were pleasantly surprised to discover SQL Maestro. After trying it out we started to use it on a regular basis".
Peter Robinson: "As a tech savvy company director, I wanted an inexpensive web based database application to manage all aspects of my business. As with most humans I find developing purely by CLI very hard and do not have the will or time to invest in improving my skills. I was looking to find a nice human friendly GUI to design and build my application, which is when I came across PHP Generator for MySQL.

Whilst you still need a great understanding of logic and a small amount of programming ability to get the specific results you require, I am very happy with the speed of progress I have been making with this invaluable tool.

With all the standard libraries included, this product makes normal requirements such as JavaScript form validation, lookup selectors, on click events, auto complete, detailed searches, multiformat exports, rss feeds and username security straight forward and quick.

Having any changes made via the GUI written to the web server at the click of a button makes testing out ideas quick and easy without fear of breaking your application.

To conclude, I couldn't find any other product on the market that came close to offering the amount of options this does, and I do hope that more products like this come out in the future, with the hope of eventually eradicating the need to program all together".

Firebird Maestro

SQL Maestro Group is happy to announce the release of Firebird Maestro 15.11, a powerful Windows GUI solution for Firebird administration and database development.

Please consider the list of new features implemented in this version since the last official release:

Server management extensions:

  • This version of the software has been successfully tested with Firebird 3.0 RC 1 (the latest version available at the moment). We have also implemented support for some Firebird 3.0 new features:
    • Support for packages has been added (a package is a group of procedures and functions managed as one entity). Now you can create and edit package headers and their bodies using a powerful editor that comes with our product.

    • Support for DDL triggers has been implemented. The purpose of such triggers is to enable restrictions to be placed on users who attempt to create, alter or drop a DDL object.

    • Database Editor: now it is possible to change the default character set for an existing database. The alteration does not change any existing data. The new default character set is used only in subsequent DDL commands and will assume the default collation of the new character set.

  • Transaction Browser has been improved. Now all active connections are displayed correctly independently of the time they were opened. It also becomes possible to terminate an unwanted connection to the database with a single mouse click.
  • A command line builder has been incorporated into all the maintenance wizards. Now Backup Database and Restore Database wizards provide you with a comfortable user interface for creating batch files for the GBAK tool, while Shutdown Database and Bring Database Online wizards allow you to easily create such files for the GFIX utility.

  • Starting with this version a warning appears on creating a table without a primary key constraint.

Interface improvements:

  • In Data Grids and Data Input Forms computed columns are marked by a green calculator.

  • From now on it becomes possible to execute custom SQL scripts in all database connections established by the software.

  • Support for a number of new encryption algorithms has been added to Data Grid. Now it is possible to encrypt the value of a text column, for example, by SHA512 or Haval224 algorithm with a couple of mouse clicks.

  • Support for Adobe Reader DC has been added to BLOB Editor. Also the editor window now saves its size and position between times it is opened (for each table).

  • Starting from this version it is possible to select a tab color for windows that belong to a certain database. This could help you to distinguish windows with the same caption but a different parent database (such as SQL Editor) with ease. The color can be specified at the Options tab in the Database Profile Properties dialog.

For the same purpose tab hints now include the profile name.

  • Now dependencies of system domains are correctly represented on Dependency tracker and on the appropriate tabs of domains' editors.
  • Data Export: from now on it becomes possible to specify caption, width, and alignment for output columns (when applicable).

Also it becomes possible to add current timestamp to the output file name.

  • Data Import: starting from this version it is possible to import empty values as empty strings (while previous versions always imported such values as NULLs).

  • Data Input Form: controls containing values of primary and foreign key columns are now marked with the 'gold key' and 'silver key' images accordingly. Controls containing values of required (NOT NULL) columns are marked with a red asterisk.

In addition to this, several bugs have been fixed and some other minor improvements and corrections have been made.
