How to connect to Sybase SQL Anywhere

To compare two Sybase SQL Anywhere databases you need to connect to them first. Specify connection properties of the Source database and the Target database. In this case ASA Data Sync after the comparison prepares a synchronization script to be executed on the target database. To compare tables stored in one database, specify the connection properties once and use the Copy source to target or Copy target to source buttons.

To connect to Sybase SQL Anywhere, specify common credentials as follows:

Host

The host name of the SQL Anywhere server.

Specify here Engine name.

Port number

The TCP/IP port to use if server is not localhost.

ASA Data Sync allows you to use integrated login (only for database servers running on Windows).  Otherwise, set the following server security options.

User name

The username used to connect to Sybase SQL Anywhere.

Password

The password for the user account on server.
