Customizing content

This step is provided for customizing the content of the result scripts. The detailed description of all the options is given below.

 

 

Records per page

This option defines the number of records to be displayed on a single page. If a table or a query record quantity exceeds this value the page navigation links are displayed according to the Page range option and the Show page navigation option values.

 

Page range

This option defines the appearance of the navigation links in the script. Specify the range to put in order the links. For instance, if there are 36 pages in the script and the Page Range option is set to 10 (default), the navigation row looks in the following way:

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11..20 21..30 31..36

 

  Show script explorer

Check the option to put the script explorer at the left of the script. The script explorer is useful to navigate among the scripts generated in the same ASP.NET Generator session.

 

 

Show page navigation

Set the options to indicate whether the page navigation links should be displayed above table data, below table data or both (default).

 

  Allow adding records

This option defines whether the function for inserting new records into the table is generated and whether the appropriate link is added to the script. This option is applied to tables only.

 

  Allow viewing records

This option defines whether the function for detailed record viewing is generated and whether the appropriate link is added to the script.

 

  Allow editing records

This option defines whether the function for updating table records is generated and whether the appropriate link is added to the script. This option is applied to tables only.

 

  Allow deleting records

This option defines whether the function for deleting table records is generated and whether the appropriate link is added to the script. This option is applied to tables only.

 

  Allow column ordering

This option defines whether the function for sorting table by a specific column is generated and whether the appropriate link is added to the column headers. This option is applied to tables only.

 

  Allow filtering records

This option defines whether the function for filtering table records by some specific value (which can be applied to all columns or specific columns) and whether the appropriate form is displayed at the top of the document. This option is applied to tables only.

 

Note: Use the Don't show this step any more checkbox to hide this step in your later wizard sessions. You may uncheck the option within the corresponding tab of the Options dialog.
