Editing connection properties

The Connection tab is provided to represent connection parameters (host name, user namedatabase name, and others) and to allow editing of some connection properties. Use Always capitalize database objects names to define the representation type of the database objects names.

 

 

Using Firebird Maestro Database Profile Editor you can edit your connection properties. Specify the properties according to your needs. The detailed description is given below.

 

Protocol

Select the network protocol used for the connection to the server. If the Local protocol is selected, then the database is on the originating node (a local database), otherwise it is on another node (a remote database).

 

Host name

Define the database host name.

 

User name

Specify the database user's name.

 

Role

Specify the user's role.

 

Password

Specify a password for the user.

 

Database name

This field stands for the database file specification.

 

Charset

Define the default character set for the database.

 

Database alias

Specify the database alias to be represented in Database Explorer.

 

Path to security database

Specify the path to the security database where the list of user names and passwords is maintained.

 

Client library file

Specify client library file if necessary.

 

Always capitalize database objects name

If checked, object names are capitalized.
